TULSA GARDEN RAILROAD CLUB

November 23, 2010

Minutes

Kathy Klawitter opened the meeting in the absence of president , Vernon Guess.

A motion was made, seconded and passed to accept the minutes as read.

OLD BUSINESS

1. The Claremore Christmas Parade is scheduled for December 4th, and the trailer is at the Klawitter’s. Kathy reported that the theme for the parade is “Music and the Magic of Christmas”. All floats must have lights and the cost to enter is $10.00. Because of no volunteers that could assist putting together a float, it was decided that TGRRC would not participate.

2. The club Christmas party is at the Klawitter home, in Claremore. Their address is 734 South Valentine Lane. If you need directions call Kathy @ 740-6577 or Mike @740-6579. Cost is $15.00 per person and is scheduled for 4:30. Sunday, December 12. If you want to be included in the gift exchange, bring a gift per each person interested.

3. Joe Salamon reported that he has contacted several locations for a Christmas train display and has no positive response from any of them.

4. Bob Gardine is still waiting for an from the Bentonville group, but has heard nothing to this date. He suggested rather than going to Bentonville maybe we should look at something closer to home. He and Joe will look into Hardscape, the Home and Garden Show, the Garden Club and the Water tour, and report back at next meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

1. Kathy announced that the nomination committee had suggested the nomination of Sheila Buttram, secretary for one year and Stan Morris as treasurer. There were no nominations from the floor therefore, a motion was made, seconded and passed which elected the above.

2. A flyer was given to each member and was asked to fill out the questions. It was decided that a Saturday meeting was wanted. Most wanted a last Saturday of the month. Club members will receive an email explaining what we are proposing to determine if a Saturday meeting would work.

3. Stan Morris presented a model of a flat car with a sponsor sign or logo. The “advertisement car “ was black with a white sign. It was greatly accepted by the membership. We could use them at all the shows that we attend. Stan stated that he needs a list of everywhere we have participated in the last year. He also will contact all the TV channels with his presentation.

4. Several members have volunteered to open their homes and layouts for the following year:
