Tulsa Garden Railroad Club
The Tulsa Garden Railroad Club was founded in January 1997. Its purpose is to encourage and broaden the knowledge of large scale garden rail road activities. It is open to anyone interested in large-scale outdoor or indoor model railroading.
Our business meetings begin at 6:30pm on the last Thursday of each month. They include all necessary club business and special committee reports. Two short programs will usually follow this. The first will be a “show and tell” in which a club member will “show off” and explain a large-scale railroad related item. This could range from rolling stock and power plants to structures or related ground support vehicles. The second short program will be a “how to” segment. This could range from wiring, or track laying, or perhaps problems encountered in construction or modifying a model kit.
In addition to the regular monthly meetings, the club holds an “open house” hosted by individual club members during the months of May through October. The open house enables club member to visit an actual operating layout or to see them under construction. The club supports local events through its display of a ground track layout or the modular unit layout. This allows member to display and operate their privately owned trains.
Membership in the TGRRC is open to anyone with an interest in trains and garden railroading. Individual memberships are $25 and family memberships (up to 4) are $30 per year.
