Greetings from the Presidents Round
House....
It's hard
to believe that it is now 2008! A lot has been happening, and probably not just
with the Shirey's. Our entire railroad is boxed up and in storage. Can't wait
until we can get back out and start construction on a new layout. Well, this
new year should prove to be an interesting time with all of the new members we
have and the new railroads going in, hopefully there will be new railroad
empires for the tour. Even though it is now the dead of winter, spring will be
here before you know it. Everyone needs to be thinking about activities for the
coming year, whether it is shows/events to set up at, workshops that we want to
be held to help spread knowledge of particular crafts or modeling/construction,
or even if someone would like help in the maintenance of their existing layout
or possibly helping put in a new layout (HINT....HINT). What about modeling
contest? I remember that the club did have a contest for models, photographs,
and even items associated with railroading that the members voted for best of
each category. I would like to see this come back. We have some very talented people
in the club and it would be nice to see what these members have been up to. So
everyone put on your thinking caps, and let’s hear some ideas at the next club
meeting. Until then…. ….Donnie

TGRRC ANNUAL PARTY

Having
managed to tear themselves away from the munchies, those attending the annual
bash posed for their picture. Those attending are already thinking about having
a group dinner this summer. Our camera man for the photo was Gene Pfeiffer.
Dues are Due!
Keep your
membership current by getting your annual dues in this month. Single
memberships are $20 and $30 for families. If you can’t make it to this months

The Great Train Expo

Considering
the weather, it was a wonder that we were able to have the Great Train Expo in
December. Kathy is seen here admiring her winter display. Brrrr!
